Jeff Geeraerts

Copper Die Service
Jeff began his career in our industry at a small offset printing company in Tempe, AZ called Little Wonder Press. He was hired as a camera man and film stripper in 1970. Jeff's ability to service customers and work toward consistent quality was quickly recognized. In three short years, Jeff became manager of the company and provided commercial printing for a wide range of clients. In 1976, Jeff pursued an opportunity to enter the paper industry. Jeff spent the next 13 years in the paper business doing purchasing, customer service, sales and management. In 1988, he joined Arizona Embossing, the largest print finisher in Phoenix, AZ. Jeff serviced the local and regional sales of foil stamping, embossing, die cutting, UV coating and other print finishing operations for AED. In 1996, Metal Magic was quite fortunate to have Jeff join our team, and assist in providing our customers with superior customer service. Through Jeff's extensive background, he better understands the challenges many of our customers face when operating presses for foil stamping and embossing. Jeff works hard every day to make our customers look great on paper!
Ed Hughes
ed@metalmagic.com
Brass Die Service
Ed Hughes joined the Metal Magic team in 2002 and brought many years of history and experience in the industry to our company. Ed began as an engraver with Hallmark cards. He was one of 1000 applicants asked to draw images of nature as an interview for the engraver position. After several interviews Hallmark narrowed their selection to eight talented engravers, and then hired only four. After one year at Hallmark, Ed was the only engraver from the original four that celebrated a one year anniversary. Ed proudly served Hallmark for 11 years as an engraver and teacher by traveling to various engraving locations training other employees. In 1976, Ed was recommended by Hallmark to help create an engraving operation at Universal Luster Leaf, later Universal Engraving. Ed remained at Universal until 1999, ending many years of service as Vice President and General Manager of the company. Ed and his wife began an engraving operation of their own and later joined Metal Magic. Today, Ed represents a fine department of quality brass die engravers and CNC technology.
Jack Mikos

Chicago Plant, Brass and Copper Service
Metal Magic was quite fortunate to gain Jack's experience and knowledge during the acquisition of Redeen Engraving 2003. In 1967, Jack began his career in the engraving industry through a four year apprenticeship program for metal engravers. He was soon machining 2-dimensional patterns and operating a pantograph. Jack also worked light machining on a Bridgeport mill, drill press and surface grinder. In 1983, he began working for Redeen Engraving milling dies. His ability to manage employees and communicate with customers became apparent and before long Jack became foreman of the milling department, then production manager of the entire shop. In 2004, after Metal Magic acquired Redeen Engraving, Jack became manager of Metal Magic, Chicago operations. His responsibilities include production management and client service representative for all Chicago sales. Jack has proven to be one of our greatest assets and continues to service our customers with superior care and concern.
Jim Plemons
jim@metalmagic.com
Copper Die Service
Jim Plemons began his career in 1991 as a cameraman and film stripper for a local Arizona printer. As the printing industry moved into the digital era, Jim became an electronic pre-press operator and helped his employer transition their traditional pre-press department into the digital age. After several years Jim progressed to managing additional electronic pre-press departments and worked closely with graphic designers in preparing files for press. In 2002, Jim became the proprietor of his own electronic pre-press services bureau where he provided graphic design, typesetting/layout, and film output services to printers throughout Arizona. This opportunity allowed Jim to utilize his pre-press knowledge while applying his skill for servicing customers and creating sales. Jim later accepted a position with Prisma Graphic, a full service commercial printer in the Southwest, as an Estimator and Print Salesman. Metal Magic was soon fortunate to gain Jim as a valued member of the customer service team. His extensive background in the printing industry, ranging from film to digital pre-press, estimating to customer service, has prepared Jim to be extremely effective in servicing the needs and challenges of today’s print finishers. Jim understands the critical demands our industry bestows as he once was in the shoes of our customers. Metal Magic is proud to have Jim represent our company through his positive attitude and “can do” work ethic. We encourage our customers to contact Jim and learn how he may help with your next project!
