Artwork Requirements
Files received by 10 am Phoenix/Chicago time will be processed and manufactured the same business day.
Electronic File Requirements
Important Notes:
- Files over 10 MB should be sent through our FTP Site.
- We are able to process files from the following programs:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Pagemaker
- Adobe Photoshop
- Macromedia Freehand
- Quark Xpress
- Adobe Acrobat PDF files in 100% black only
- Send only the image that a die needs to be created from.
- If your electronic file does not include type, be sure what we see on the screen is right reading.
- Supply fonts and linked graphic files where necessary.
- Convert type to outlines if possible to eliminate font problems.
- Compress files with Stuffit or WinZip.
- ALWAYS fax a copy of your image with a completed order form to accompany your email.
Art and Film Requirements
Metal Magic will duplicate your film or artwork and return the originals with your die order!
- Please provide high contrast black and white artwork or line film.
- Negatives right reading/emulsion down are preferred.
- Always indicate right reading and emulsion direction on film (use artist's tape or masking tape)
- Check for unwanted screen patterns.
- When sending film negatives, clearly mark areas to be photoetched with a black felt-tip marker. (Please DO NOT use a grease pencil)
- Avoid using fine lines (under 1pt. for foil or 2pt. for embossing)
- Double check for proper fit and trapping
- Maximum image size is 21" x 35"
